Remote log-in from anywhere.

With Synapse™, your telecommunicators can take E911 calls from anywhere you have secure network access. Your home office. The police station. The local coffee shop. All you need is an IP phone and a network connection and your call taker is up-and-running with the complete set of call handling capabilities right at their fingertips.

Minimize call congestion while assuring the more critical calls get through more quickly.

It happens every day. There is a fender bender on the highway and many dozens of cell phone calls come into your center reporting it. This could mean long waits or busy signals for the real emergency call.

Synapse lets you record a quick message to be heard only by callers from that specific cell tower and antenna (or whatever criteria you determine) letting them know a response is already on the way. If they stay on the line, they will be routed as normal. But if they were simply reporting the accident, they can free the lines for a more critical call.

Unique to Synapse, this feature is there when you need it and ready-and-waiting when you don't.

Time-tested and call taker tested interfaces.

More than 700 PSAPs, ranging from 1 to over 200 call takers, are currently relying on Synapse’s user interface to…
  • Deliver E911s calls to the appropriate call taker.
  • Capture the relevant ANI/ALI, map data and other details.
  • Coordinate the necessary response.
  • Quickly communicate the full and complete details to the responders and anyone else who requires them.

Networked PSAPs.
Downtimes and distances are now things of the past.

With Synapse, you can provide the latest call taking solutions for a network of PSAPs with all the redundancies and capabilities you need without installing duplicate systems in each location.

This will…
  • save your agency money on hardware and long distance fees
  • increase your overall call handling capabilities
  • meet volume spikes by overflowing calls to less busy operators at other PSAPs
  • share information and resources with other PSAPs ... anywhere in the country
Imagine being able to instantly have the call takers at other PSAPs support your staff during an emergency. Imagine having their system provide your PSAP with back-up redundancy. Imagine how much this will help you cope with the unexpected while delivering on the core objective of 100% up time.

Imagine no more.

Advanced features that don't require advanced training.
  • Improved redundancy with multiple paths (wireless, PSTN, microwave) to your 9-1-1 center and backup centers. To ensure E911 calls get to their destination.
  • Intelligent Call Routing sends calls along the best and most efficient path, as well as automatically redirecting calls based on preset criteria such as time of day or type of call. Features include: temporarily redirect for coverage, priority queuing, backup alerting, times reminders, and complete night-service settings.
  • Each workstation can be customized for each call taker.
  • All pertinent ANI / ALI data provided before call taker answers to identify repeat calls on same incidents.
  • End-to-end encryption of all E911 calls to help ensure privacy across the network.
  • All E911 calls presented simultaneously to both the PC workstation and an IP phone, providing redundant display of the ANI / ALI and responder details. Which allows admin phones the ability to take 911 calls in an emergency.
  • One number access, incoming call rings on office and mobile phones, helping assure mobile supervisors stay connected during escalations even if they need to leave the office.
  • On-demand, meet-me conferencing for emergency collaboration with public officials. Synapse also includes six-party conferencing and group paging capabilities.
  • Based on industry standards for investment protection (H.323, H.248, AES, QoS, SIP, NENA i2 & i3, etc.) Allows an easy interface to most existing and IP based phone systems to ensure you can transfer calls anywhere.
  • Phones can be answered via Mouse, Screen, Telephone or Hot Key (keyboard).
  • Supervisor can be authorized access to all user screens.
  • Data integration to radio, CAD/RMS and mapping applications. Synapse workstations can work with numerous applications, in many cases sharing the same workstation saving money and valuable desk space.
  • Voice and data delivery on a single network.

The end of the forklift.

In the past new technologies and new regulations meant entirely new PSAP solutions. This was fine when the speed of innovation was more leisurely.

But today … with more than half of all E911calls coming from wireless phones … with automobiles themselves making calls for unconscious drivers … with new information sources and regulations arriving almost daily … the days of “forklift” installs must come to an end.

Synapse is designed with entirely open standards, letting you upgrade your PSAP to include emerging technologies, such as video, along with a pre-planned migration path and full standards compliance.
